Family pride was something that was instilled in me by my parents and relatives when I was growing up in Shreveport, La. There are countless stories about the Chandlers that would make a great book, or several books probably.
This site is being built to help preserve the family heritage and explore the past and future of the Chandlers who first came over from the Old World and set foot at Jamestown.
John Chandler, a young boy at the time, is given credit for being the first Chandler in my family to come over to the North American continent back in the 1600s, but the lineage goes far beyond that back into England and France.
