About Me
I am a happily-married Louisiana native who recently retired after over 30 years in the field of education. This retirement time has afforded me the opportunity to work more on my passion of creating and maintaining web sites.
My college major was in journalism and social studies education and I went on to earn my M. Ed. in secondary school administration.
My interests include fishing on both of my family ponds, messing with photography, visiting the Destin-area of Florida, taking trips to see the grandkids who all live out-of-state and lovin' on my soul-mate, Nancy. We both love animals and take care of a herd of Chihuahuas and other dogs.
One of my most-recent hobbies has become working on my family tree. My Chandler line goes back to John Chandler, who was born in 1600 and came over to Jamestown when he was around 10 years old.
If you are a Chandler, my family descends from the John, Robert, Robert, Joseph, Joseph, James, Richardson, Stephen, Newton, Elijah Charles, Donald Elijah lineage.
I have had my Y-DNA tested for the first 37 markers and have located three exact matches and many who match on 25 markers.
I am a distant cousin of pianist Van Cliburn (not his real given name) and Joel Chandler Harris.
